[ Rachel knows she should be spring-boarding off the bed to get into the shower and get ready, but she spends a couple of minutes just laying on her bed, looking up at the ceiling and thinking this over. all of it. the strawberries and the strawberries and how she might've gone to the clinic to get the skinny on the whole birth control thing, whether it was necessary or not. she didn't want to think or worry about all the technical safety stuff later, once he was here, so she's doing it now. but really, there's nothing to worry about at all.
so.
eventually she does roll off of her bed, taking a second to put fresh water in the vase with the flower he got her before finally heading out to the bathroom to shower. she gets extra scrubby too, makes sure she doesn't miss any spots when she's shaving her legs. right, yes.
she still just gets into a fresh pair of jeans and a t-shirt, but oh well. she can't try to deal with getting 'dressed up' when she's already so nervous.
so now she just needs to wait until he gets here. and she'll do so right in the same place she was about twenty minutes ago, staring up at the ceiling and trying to tame the butterflies in her stomach ]
