I think I'm saying that I'm open to that being in the realm of possibilities. For after we share those strawberries. Yes.

[ she clears her throat, and she's just laying on her bed and staring up at her ceiling while she talks, but she's starting to notice that her heartbeat is going haywire and her brain function is following suit ]

-- I was thinking about it and then I was trying to figure out how to just tell you, and I don't know, throwing myself at you and making it seem like it was just this spontaneous need isn't really my style, so. I wanted to let you know that I've been thinking about it, and that I want to, and that it's kind of silly to put it off when we both want to, so I covered strawberries in chocolate.

We can share those and talk about it and- whatever you want.

If I want? You're kidding me, right? I very much want. Much want. Big want. All the want. I'm a wantasarus rex. I just didn't want to, uh, push or anything. So if you want to talk about it, I'd really like that.

[How come his palms were suddenly sweaty? It wasn't like he hadn't done things with her before. But this was a little different. This was potentially the 'big deal'. And yes, it was a big deal.]

You should probably come over here, now that I'm thinking about it. Um. Probably without Hale. I feel really bad even saying that, but, I'll draw him up a five-course dinner later. I guess just- privacy is ideal, right? Which we'd have here. For sure.

[ so much for not planning any of this....... she'll scold herself for it later. ]

[Groceries needed to be stashed and he wanted to grab a quick shower first. Hey, no way was he going over for that and smelling like he'd been working all day. Clean underwear time. Preferably the ones with her initials on them.]

Yeah. Okay, yeah. Take your time, I have to- do. Stuff.

[ like pretty much all the same stuff he's doing, yep. ]

But I'll see you soon? And then we can talk. Again. About everything.

[ she huffs a laugh, squeezing her eyes shut and willing herself to keep it together at least until she ends the feed ]

Stuff. Right. Okay. I'll, uh, bring the strawberries when I come over.

Gimme about... half an hour?

Half an hour. Yes. Perfect.

Stiles?

[He was just about to hang up, but he paused when she said his name.]

Yeah?

I really, really love you.

[ it's just really reassuring to say it out loud ]

[Aww... balls. That was his heart melting in his chest. Yep, there it went. He sighed, that stupid little grin spreading wider on his face.]

That's kind of awesome, because I really love you too.

Oh, good.

[ said with overdramatic oh thank god kind relief, like she had been completely unaware what his answer would be. because she's nervous, so naturally she needs to act silly. ]

So, I'll see you soon, then.

[He was still grinning as he started to put away the groceries, heading upstairs to feed Hale and Cora and let them run around while he went and had a shower. A quick but thorough shower. Very thorough. All the Stiles bits were cleaned.]

[ Rachel knows she should be spring-boarding off the bed to get into the shower and get ready, but she spends a couple of minutes just laying on her bed, looking up at the ceiling and thinking this over. all of it. the strawberries and the strawberries and how she might've gone to the clinic to get the skinny on the whole birth control thing, whether it was necessary or not. she didn't want to think or worry about all the technical safety stuff later, once he was here, so she's doing it now. but really, there's nothing to worry about at all.

so.

eventually she does roll off of her bed, taking a second to put fresh water in the vase with the flower he got her before finally heading out to the bathroom to shower. she gets extra scrubby too, makes sure she doesn't miss any spots when she's shaving her legs. right, yes.

she still just gets into a fresh pair of jeans and a t-shirt, but oh well. she can't try to deal with getting 'dressed up' when she's already so nervous.

so now she just needs to wait until he gets here. and she'll do so right in the same place she was about twenty minutes ago, staring up at the ceiling and trying to tame the butterflies in her stomach ]

[He makes one detour after getting out of the shower and getting dressed; he sneaks into Scott's room and rifles in his best friend's drawers for -- aha! Condoms. He might not have gotten any skinnies on anything, but he knew what a guy had to bring to the equation and he could at least do that.

He grabbed one. Then two. Then sort of just shoved them all in his pockets, feeling like they were burning holes through it and glowing and that everyone would know. "STILES HAS CONDOMS IN HIS POCKETS! HE'S GOING TO GO HAVE SEX. RIGHT NOW! WITH A GIRL! A LIVE ONE! WOOO!"

Calling to the two little brats, he herded them into his room, made sure they had food and a place to, ah, go if they needed and some toys, ignoring Hale's squawks as he closed the door on them. Then he went and left a note taped to his door for someone to let them out when they got home. If they got home.

Then he grabbed the strawberries and headed on over to Rachel's, feeling his palms start to sweat again and feeling like he'd taken a double dose of Adderall.

KNOCK KNOCK, BABY.]

[ he knocks, and that makes her springboard, rolling onto her feet and bolting for the door. but-! right, uh. be cool. be cool. she loops a slow circle around her room, being cool, totally cool. she flips her head forward to shake out her hair, making it look a little less "DOES MY HAIR LOOK OKAY?" and more easy, calm, cool. eventually she pulls open the door, gives him a smile.

and then she reaches out to grab him by the front of his shirt and pull him into her room, just so she can give him a kiss. an epic, super kiss. the kind of kiss that happens when you're trying really hard not to think too much and just- go with your gut. even if your gut wants to eat chocolate covered strawberries first, before following up on said kiss. ]

[He's waiting there at her door, trying not to look as nervous as he feels with pockets full of condoms and a container with chocolate covered strawberries. The door's opened and before he can even say hi or finish the smile that was starting, he was jerked in and thoroughly kissed. Like, thoroughly kissed. There was a redhead pressing her lips to his and giving him mouth to mouth that had him tingling all the way down to his toes.

He sort of just... melted. And went with it. Totally went with it. Kisses were good.]

[ her fingers don't uncurl from his shirt until she's ready to settle back onto her feet again, and that doesn't happen until she's in desperate need of a breath. her exhale doubles as a sigh, a stupid, happy sigh, punctuated with a smile. yeah. that was a good one. her fingers slip away from him after that, though she walks backwards into her room, like she's not ready to let him out of her sight even for the second it would take for her to get over to her bed ]

Hey.

[She had officially melted his brain. He was a goner. He literally stared blankly after her for a few minutes, blinking to try to kickstart his mind.]

Hey...

[It was said quietly, but even then it still caught in the middle, his grin crooked and looking like he was maybe a little drunk as he stood there staring at her.]

[ the few steps backwards get rewound until she's right in front of him like before, too close considering all she does is take the container from him so she can put it on the bedside table. but then she's right there again. ]

Everything okay, Freckles?

[ she sounds too amused, and maybe a little tiny bit concerned. but her hands seek out his, fingers tanling up ]

Huh? Oh, yeah. Yeah. Everything is... wow.

[Pull it together, Stilinski. She's not going to want to sleep with a drooling idiot.

He felt her fingers in his and he tugged her forward, deciding it was his turn to try one of those brain melting kisses -- if only to see if it was something he was capable of doing.]

[ everything is wow. that's good, right? wow can't really be bad. unless it's said sarcastically. but he doesn't sound sarcastic, he just sounds distracted, kind of. and she's still smiling even once he kisses her, at first, pleased as punch and pie, her fingers uncurling just so she can press her palms against his properly, holding onto him that way. and it is a brain-melty kiss, he can do that to her. he always does that to her. but it's a slow burn this time, takes a couple of seconds to filter out her amusement for, well, wow. ]

[He steals one of his hands back, lifting it to slide into her hair, to let his thumb brush over her cheek as he keeps up with the wowing. Because kissing Rachel is never a bad thing. It's never something he has to make himself do, something he does just to get it over with. He loves each kiss, each time her lips are close enough to his for him to get a taste of her. He loves the way her breath catches in that way that makes him want to laugh because of something he did.

So basically, he just loves her and everything about her, but that's pretty much common knowledge at this point.]

[ the hair, he always goes for the hair. which, predictably, is a weakness. maybe because most people just didn't touch her hair, it was maybe, possibly, a target for teasing, growing up. but that's so the last thing she's thinking about right now, so he plays with her hair and she feels her heart flipflop over it, her freed hand moving to his side just to hold onto his shirt there. always gripping at him, keeping him right where he is, as if there's a chance he might move. she breaks the kiss for a breath and she tips her face up so her nose can brush over his, lips still nudging even if she isn't actually kissing him. it's a slow slip, just enjoying the way his lips feel against hers, even if she's too breathless press back in again just yet ]

[ turned her brain to goo, yeah. she can't be amused at him if she's right in the same boat ]

Did what on what?

[He was barely functioning past RachelRachelRachel right now, so she was lucky that he didn't just revert to some sort of primal version of himself. Though, that was tempting; the thought of pulling her clothes off and just... mm. Yeah. Okay.]

So... you look good.

Mmn.

[ yep, that's all she's got in answer to that question. she's pretty much caught in StilesStilesStiles mode, so eventually she does take a slow step back, looking down at her clothes once he moves onto 'you look good'. ]

[ thanks? she just doesn't know what else to say. there's a new frayed patch on her jeans and it's because she doesn't know when to stop fussing with a single thread until it turns into a mess, and her t-shirt is something she drew up on a whim. it's just a t-shirt. why is Stiles the nicest boy in the world, she can't wrap her head around it. she looks back up with him with a silly grin, like she can't figure out why they're just- standing here, why is it suddenly so difficult to brain. ]

So do you. You look good enough to eat - [ deliberate paaaause... ] - strawberries with.
